# Carl Kraski — Tarzan and the Golden Lion character guide

> Carl Kraski in Tarzan and the Golden Lion by Edgar Rice Burroughs.

**Role:** supporting

**Also known as:** Kraski, Mister Carl Kraski

**First appearance:** 0000-i-the-golden-lion

## Snapshot

A cool-headed Russian in a party of cutthroats, quick to draw a revolver and quicker to point out everyone else's failures.

## Who they are

Kraski is the most intelligent and therefore most inventive member of the treasure expedition, rigging platforms in trees while his companions cling miserably to branches. He needles the Spaniard, mocks the German's stinginess, and keeps his revolver close — a man who survives by being smarter than the people he'd happily betray. His calculating presence turns the jungle trek into a pressure cooker of greed.
