# Biorn the Brisk — Styrbiorn the Strong character guide

> Biorn the Brisk in Styrbiorn the Strong by E. R. Eddison.

**Role:** supporting

**Also known as:** Biorn

**First appearance:** 0006-iv-jomsburg

## Snapshot

Styrbiorn's foster-brother and voice, Biorn the Brisk speaks the words his lord cannot and stands beside him when the shield-walls close.

## Who they are

Where Styrbiorn stumbles over speech, Biorn speaks with clarity and force, translating his foster-brother's fierce intent into battle-rousing words before the assembled host. He is the shadow at Styrbiorn's shoulder, the man who rides with him on secret errands and carries his confidences. In the great battle against King Eric, it is Biorn's voice that rallies the Jomsburgers while every eye stays fixed on Styrbiorn's towering silence.
