## Who they are

Hussey is the expedition's weather man, setting up barographs and anemometers aboard the trapped ship while also serving as its unofficial morale officer. He embodies the expedition's double life, serious science conducted alongside the small human comforts that make endurance possible. As the winter closes in, his instruments and his banjo both become instruments of survival.
