## Who they are

Bartolomeo di Piombo arrives in Paris with his wife and daughter, carrying the fierce loyalties of his island and a bond of life and death sworn to the First Consul. Proud, impoverished, and unbending, he measures the world by Corsican honor rather than Parisian fashion. His inflexibility shapes his daughter's fate and sets the family on a collision course with the city's colder calculations.
