## Snapshot

A physicist in charge of a three-mile mirror station above Earth, whose sudden turmoil wakes the Bryd, a parasitic mind that has been sleeping in his skull since childhood.

## Who they are

Dale Stevenson commands Sun-Station No. 18, a man-made island of sodium mirrors and rocket berths that lights Paris by night, and he has been psych-tested and certified as stable. But the Bryd, curled in his mind since he was four, wakes to find him reaching for a button that would burn a path across Europe's largest city. The Bryd's detached curiosity about what Dale has become in twenty-four years turns a technical marvel into a quiet horror of possession and intent.
