## Who they are

Mr. Jackson arrives at Mrs. Tittlemouse's door with a cheerful 'Tiddly, widdly, widdly' and a nose for honey, then proceeds to poke through her cupboards, pantry, and larder in search of it. He snaps up Babbitty Bumble, shrugs off her stings, and seems untroubled by the mess of honey, moss, and thistledown he leaves in his wake. His cheerful intrusiveness is the precise provocation that drives Mrs. Tittlemouse to rebuild her door too small for him.
