> Aunt Rosamond in Short Fiction by Catherine Louisa Pirkis.

**Role:** supporting

**Also known as:** Rosamond, Poor Aunt Rosamond

**First appearance:** 0001-i

## Snapshot

A formidable London aunt who wages war against a country doctor suitor, insisting her niece taste society's pleasures before any engagement is settled.

## Who they are

Aunt Rosamond presides over her niece Lettice's London season with aquiline disapproval and a foot that taps a rapid tattoo whenever her brother Owen edges toward matchmaking. She champions the girl's right to know her own mind, yet drags her home by midnight with a frown that ends every ball early. Her stubborn, fermenting will shapes the debutante's first months and quietly determines which suitor the family takes seriously.
