## Snapshot

A merchant's daughter who opens her screen doors at midnight to pull a servant into a runaway scheme, offering her body, her purse, and her father's gold.

## Who they are

Tsuya is the young mistress of the house where Shinsuké serves, a woman whose long-lashed gaze and red crepe under-robe turn a cold verandah into a trap. She loves Shinsuké with a tenderness that is also a demand, pressing him to flee with her to Fukagawa while her father is away. Her willingness to spend her family's money and her own reputation makes her the engine of the story's central temptation, forcing everyone around her to choose between duty and desire.
