# Georg Znaeym — Short Fiction character guide

> Georg Znaeym in Short Fiction by Saki.

**Role:** major

**Also known as:** Georg

**First appearance:** 0002-the-blood-feud-of-toad-water

## Snapshot

A poacher-turned-landowner locked in a bitter generational feud with Ulrich von Gradwitz over a disputed strip of forest.

## Who they are

Georg Znaeym belongs to the wrong side of a boundary dispute that has outlived its original grievance, a quarrel his family never accepted losing. He patrols the contested woodland with the same vigilance as his aristocratic rival, each man hoping to catch the other trespassing. His stubborn refusal to concede what he considers rightfully his turns a property line into a matter of identity, and that rigidity is what the story's central encounter will test.
