**Role:** supporting

**Also known as:** Hathaway, Click

## Snapshot

A cameraman who keeps filming through a crash, framing a low-angle shot of his partner's survival before he remembers to think about death.

## Who they are

Hathaway survives an asteroid crackup with sixty minutes of oxygen and a camera that seems to have grown into his fingers. He and the Patrolman Marnagan are stranded on a pocked meteor plain, and Hathaway's first instinct is a news release: Gunther, the unseen pirate, photographed on the spot in color. His cold eye for a shot collides with Marnagan's fury and with the plain fact of suffocation.
