A patient, steel-rimmed psychiatrist who listens to a corporal insist he has become a plant and keeps asking gentle, precise questions.

## Who they are

Harris works from a desk stacked with Base Commander Cox's scrawled notes, treating a handsome young Patrolman's delusion as a problem to be understood rather than dismissed. He offers cigarettes, polishes his glasses, and probes the logic of Westerburg's claim with the calm of a man who has heard strange things before.
