A smuggler and hunter recruited by the Speaker to stalk a man two centuries dead, trading furs and slipping through customs lines for a living.

## Who they are

Conger has hunted the mountains of the moon and stalked empty Martian cities, a man who lived as he pleased until the Speaker offered him a chance to restore his standing. Now he stares at bones in a cupboard and tries to understand how a corpse can be killed. His loyalty is for sale, but the job's impossibility is what truly unsettles him.
