## Snapshot

A lonely young playwright whose first play is bound for Broadway, and whose reticence about his past leaves Elizabeth tantalized and curious.

## Who they are

James Renshaw Boyd meets Elizabeth in the loneliness of a big city, and their friendship ripens with the unnatural speed of two isolated people finding each other. He is modest about his Broadway debut in a way she finds charming, yet his personal reminiscences carry a tantalizing incompleteness that she, who likes full statements of position, cannot let alone. That gap between his easy intimacy and his guarded history is the quiet tension that pulls Elizabeth deeper into his life.
