What happens

Jimmy Valentine, a skilled safecracker, is released from prison and initially returns to his criminal ways. However, after falling in love with Annabel Adams in Elmore, he reinvents himself as Ralph Spencer, a respectable shoe-store owner. When Annabel's niece is accidentally locked in the bank vault, Jimmy reveals his true identity to save her, using his burglar tools. Detective Ben Price, who had been pursuing him, chooses to let him go, recognizing his reformation.
