The elected chieftain of the Zaporozhian Setch, whose battlefield orders and blunt speech command the loyalty of the free Cossack host.

## Who they are

The Koschevoi leads the Zaporozhian camp not by birth but by the will of the kuréns, and his authority lasts only as long as his judgment holds. He speaks plainly, plans sieges with a practical eye, and knows that Cossack discipline is a fragile thing held together by shared hunger and shared glory. His decisions shape how the host fights, and his voice carries the weight of a free people's rough democracy.
