What happens

Jak Dempsi, the Solar System Gladiator Champion, grapples with his inflated ego and the impending fight against a Centaurian gladiator, on which the fate of the Solar System depends. His manager warns him that his championship was a fluke and that he is in danger. Meanwhile, his fiancée Suzi breaks off their engagement, calling him a phony and a stuffed shirt. Dempsi drowns his sorrows in drink, then enters the arena heavily armed with advanced weapons, but the Centaurian proves nearly invulnerable, surviving an atomic grenade and a submachine gat barrage.
