## Snapshot

A restless antiquary chasing Count Magnus de la Gardie through Swedish archives and village gossip, he asks one question too many about the Black Pilgrimage.

## Who they are

Wraxall is a scholarly visitor at Råbäck, dividing his days between the manor-house papers and the innkeeper's reluctant talk of his host's brutal ancestor. He is methodical and curious, but his habit of jotting down every rumor as material for a book makes him press where others would politely stop. That appetite for the telling detail is what draws him toward the mausoleum and the sexton's keys, and it is what will decide whether his stay ends in a footnote or a disappearance.
