# Vasily Kashirin — Short Fiction character guide

> Vasily Kashirin in Short Fiction by Leonid Andreyev.

**Role:** supporting

**Also known as:** Kashirin, Vasily

**First appearance:** 0001-short-fiction

## Snapshot

A patriarch whose stern presence haunts the margins of family life, invoked in the charged silences and violent undercurrents that shape those who bear his name.

## Who they are

Kashirin stands as the gravitational center of a household where authority is absolute and tenderness is suspect, his shadow falling across every room and every choice. The passages that name him pulse with the tension between patriarchal command and the raw, ungovernable lives of those beneath him. His weight in the early arc is atmospheric and decisive: he is the reason the family holds its breath, the standard against which rebellion and submission are measured.
