## Snapshot

An inventor whose flying machine promises to upend the world, if only he can keep it aloft long enough to prove it.

## Who they are

Filmer moves through a world of skeptical officials, curious journalists, and ordinary people who cannot decide whether he is a visionary or a menace. His machine is the great gamble of his life, and the tension between his conviction and the public's doubt defines every encounter. What matters most in the early arc is whether the thing will actually fly — and what it will mean for Filmer if it does.
