As a supporting figure in Short Fiction, Doctor Hauserman is not background color—the story leans on what they do once the chapter opens.
Psychiatrist who interviews Chalmers, initially prepared to commit him but leaves convinced of his sanity.
Hauserman sits with the Rorschach cards and the interview forms, skeptical of what tests can actually prove about a mind. His patient's account does not fit the categories he was trained to use, and the industrial setting around him wants a clean verdict. What he chooses to record, and what he chooses to believe, will shape whether the case is treated as illness or evidence.
