## Snapshot

A new inmate in Cell Block O, Sue-Ann Bradley learns the Greensleeves' tangler fields and ten-minute rest periods the hard way, one burned thigh at a time.

## Who they are

Sue-Ann Bradley is a woman doing hard time among the Greensleeves, still new enough that the eddy currents in the tangler fields catch her off guard and the guard's 'auntie' stings. She watches Flock scream across the hall and wonders if his pain is real, keeping her own counsel behind a proud silence. Her wary attention to the block's cruelties makes her the reader's eyes on a system that calls its torments humanitarian.
