## Snapshot

Marcia Meadow is a nine-o'clock-show actress whose brisk good humor and practical energy keep her scholarly husband Horace fed, exercised, and slightly bewildered.

## Who they are

Marcia runs the household economy while Horace lives among abstract ideas, and she trades him gymnasium sessions for her grudging doses of Pepys. Her pride in his mind is fierce and unembarrassed, even as she teases him about stooping over big books. When a fat stranger at the gym takes an interest in Horace's trapeze stunts, Marcia's steadying influence becomes the thing that may or may not hold him to earth.
