## Snapshot

The county whose suit is so respectable it becomes a trap — a courteous rival who never learns he is competing with a husband.

## Who they are

Paris is the eligible nobleman every Verona parent would want for a daughter: well-born, well-spoken, and patient enough to let Capulet set the date. He asks for Juliet's hand with genuine feeling and mourns at her tomb with real grief, but he is also the reason her father's deadline becomes lethal. His blamelessness is the point — the tragedy does not need a villain when a good match will do.
