## Snapshot

A Franciscan who reads the earth as both grave and womb, and agrees to marry two young enemies in hope of ending a feud.

## Who they are

Friar Laurence moves between his cell, his herb basket, and the confessions of Verona's young, trusted by Romeo as a ghostly father and by Juliet as a last resort. He believes a secret marriage might heal the Montague-Capulet rift, and he lends his cell, his counsel, and his willingness to bend rules to that hope. His habit of solving crises with plans rather than patience makes him the hinge on which the lovers' secrecy turns.
