## Who they are

Sulla works among the humans as a typist, one of the manufactured beings whose labor the whole Rossum enterprise depends on. Her place in the domestic world keeps the Robots visible as workers rather than abstractions, so that the later uprising reads as the return of something familiar rather than alien. She embodies the ordinary, unremarkable presence of Robots in human life—exactly the ordinariness the play will make unbearable.
