## Who they are

Helena is a Robotess who shies away from Alquist's touch, smooths Primus's hair, and asks what use beauty is—yet she weeps, and her tears are the thing Alquist cannot explain away. She and Primus belong to each other with a devotion that has no place in a factory's ledger, and she would walk into the dissecting room rather than be parted from him. Her timidity and her defiance together make her the play's clearest sign that the Robots have become something their makers never intended.
