The great Zog, the powerful Thorist leader whose name carries weight across Amtor and whose enmity shadows every Vepajan aboard the Sofal.

## Who they are

Zog belongs to the Thorist world that Vepaja is raiding and that Carson's crew of outlaws is striking at ship by ship, a power whose reach makes even a privateer's prize feel like a provocation. He is the looming authority against which the Sofal's dubious legitimacy — pirate, buccaneer, or privateer — is measured, and the reason every sail sighted must be presumed hostile. His presence in the background gives Carson's early raids their stakes: this is not adventure for its own sake but a small ship poking a very large enemy.
