## Who they are

Moosko shares the dangers of Carson's first days on Amtor, but by the Sofal's raiding voyage he has become an ongyan commanding the Yan, an enemy vessel that flees rather than be boarded. His curiosity about the klangan — he has never seen an angan before — briefly lands him in Carson's cabin alongside Vilor, a small scene that reveals how thin the line is between comrade and quarry in these waters. He matters as a reminder that on Amtor, loyalties shift with the flag, and yesterday's companion can be tomorrow's prize.
