# Ellis — Our Baseball Club and How It Won the Championship character guide

> Ellis in Our Baseball Club and How It Won the Championship by Noah Brooks.

**Role:** supporting

**Also known as:** Neddie Ellis, Neddie

**First appearance:** 0001-our-baseball-club-and-how-it-won-the-championship

## Snapshot

Earnest and perpetually luckless, Neddie Ellis plays his heart out for the Catalpas even as mishaps and misjudgments seem to shadow his every turn on the field.

## Who they are

Neddie Ellis belongs to the scrappier, more human side of the Catalpa Nine, the player whose effort never quite matches his results. His earnestness makes him sympathetic even when his play invites groans, and his struggles throw the team's reliance on its stars into sharper relief. He matters because a championship run tests not only talent but the patience and loyalty a club extends to its weakest links.
