## Snapshot

The faithful lady of Brandimart, who crosses seas and battlefields to find the man she loves.

## Who they are

Flordelice belongs to the poem's company of women who refuse to wait — she travels, searches, and endures separation from Brandimart with a constancy that mirrors his own devotion to her. Her faithfulness is tested by distance, by rumor, and by the general disorder of a world at war, and she answers each test the same way. She matters because she gives the poem a love that is not a trap or a madness but a steady, active loyalty.
