How does Nightmare Abbey develop the theme of The Gothic and the Supernatural?

Nightmare Abbey by Thomas Love Peacock develops The Gothic and the Supernatural across the chapters the companion marks for this theme.

The Abbey's ruined setting, ghost stories, and mock-apparitions are used both to evoke Gothic tropes and to satirize them, with characters like Mr. Flosky claiming to see ghosts while the narrative debunks supernatural events as psychological or farcical.

The entire chapter is built around ghost stories, a staged apparition, and the characters' varied reactions, highlighting the Gothic fascination with the supernatural.
