> Neville Shandon in Murder in the Maze by J. J. Connington.

**Role:** supporting

**Also known as:** Neville, Mr. Neville, poor Mr. Shandon, Mr. Neville Shandon

**First appearance:** 0001-ii-the-affair-in-the-maze

## Snapshot

A celebrated barrister at the height of the Hackleton case, whose courtroom brilliance and family coolness make him a figure of formidable complexity.

## Who they are

Neville Shandon has spent months dismantling the Hackleton defence, and the strain of that work hangs over him even in the quiet of Whistlefield. He regards his brother Ernest with a half-quizzical, half-contemptuous tolerance, and his professional habit of seeing concealed points makes him difficult to read. His prominence in a notorious case, and the enemies such prominence creates, shadow the maze murders from the outset.
