**Role:** supporting

**Also known as:** Sange moarte

**First appearance:** 0014-ii-sange-moarte

## Snapshot

A name that hangs over Transylvania like a drawn blade, Sange Moarte shadows every warning of Turkish invasion with the promise of blood and ruin.

## Who they are

Sange Moarte surfaces in the anxious correspondence that reaches Beldi at Bodola, a phrase heavy with the threat of a Turkish pachalic carved out of Transylvania. The warning it carries — that the Sultan's pashas and the Tartar Khan stand ready to invade — forces Beldi to reckon with Banfi's reckless war and the fragile peace of his own household. Its menace shapes the early arc by turning a distant political quarrel into an intimate, immediate danger.
