Gamaheh is the beloved at the center of Master Flea's own history: a beauty whose neck and bosom he haunted as a devoted suitor, and whose fate he failed to prevent when the Leech-Prince and two interfering fools intervened. Her sleeping form, borne through the air by the Genius Thetel, becomes the object of a long and tangled rescue. Her loss haunts the flea's narration and quietly shapes the desires that pull Peregrine and Pepusch into the magical plot.
