**Role:** major

**First appearance:** 0058-walk-in-the-light-while-there-is-light

## Snapshot

A young man in the early Christian era whose search for a life that makes sense draws him into a circle of believers and doubters.

## Who they are

Pamphilius moves through a world of Roman officials, philosophers, and Christians who argue about how one should live while the state demands conformity and sacrifice. Earnest and questioning, he is pulled between the safety of his position and the unsettling example of those who give up everything for their faith. His choices anchor the parable's central question: whether a person can walk in the light while there is still time.
