## Snapshot

Wu-yong, also known as Wu Chi, plays a part in the unfolding events that carry Kai Lung from the shaded wood toward the city of Yu-ping.

## Who they are

Wu-yong appears in the narrative as one whose actions intersect with Kai Lung's journey and the various intrigues that surround it. He is not a figure of grand pronouncements but of consequential presence, his role felt in the turns that events take rather than in speeches. He matters to the early-middle arc because the story's momentum depends on such figures, whose choices quietly redirect the path of the wandering storyteller.
