# Sun Wei — Kai Lung’s Golden Hours character guide

> Sun Wei in Kai Lung’s Golden Hours by Ernest Bramah.

**Role:** supporting

**First appearance:** 0001-kai-lung-s-golden-hours

## Snapshot

A figure whose recurring presence threads through Kai Lung's wanderings, lending the narrative its sense of a world peopled by the curious and the watchful.

## Who they are

Sun Wei moves through the tale's social fabric as one of the many souls Kai Lung meets on the road and in the courts, part of the shifting company that gathers wherever a story is spread. The tension lies in the gap between polite formality and the private designs each traveller conceals. Such figures matter because they give the book its texture of a living, gossiping world in which every stranger may become a listener, a patron, or a peril.
