# How does Just So Stories develop the theme of Pride and Humility?

> Just So Stories by Rudyard Kipling

## Answer

Just So Stories by Rudyard Kipling develops Pride and Humility across the chapters the companion marks for this theme.

Suleiman-bin-Daoud learns not to show off after a humbling encounter with a sea creature, and later uses his power discreetly for a butterfly, emphasizing the value of humility over pride.

Kangaroo's inordinate pride leads him to demand change, but the humbling chase teaches him the cost of his wish.

Pau Amma's pride in his importance is humbled when the Eldest Magician removes his shell, forcing him to acknowledge his limitations.

Suleiman-bin-Daoud's humility contrasts with the butterfly's boast and the queens' pride; both are humbled by the end.
