# How does Jack Keefe Stories develop the theme of Friendship and Loyalty?

> Jack Keefe Stories by Ring Lardner

## Answer

Jack Keefe Stories by Ring Lardner develops Friendship and Loyalty across the chapters the companion marks for this theme.

Jack's letters to his friend Al reveal a deep need for connection and loyalty, though his friendships are often transactional or undermined by his own egotism, as seen in his interactions with teammates like Tom Dorgan and fellow soldiers.

Jack's correspondence with Al and his strained friendship with Allen reflect themes of loyalty and conflict.

Jack's concern for his family and the camaraderie among the players, especially Steve Evans' quick thinking to save the ship, highlight bonds of loyalty.

Jack bonds with Steve Evans and feels loyalty to McGraw after the promise of a fair deal, contrasting with his distrust of other teammates.
