# Lucille Brewster Moffam — Indiscretions of Archie character guide > Lucille Brewster Moffam in Indiscretions of Archie by P. G. Wodehouse. **Role:** major **Also known as:** Lucille, Lu, Lou, Old Lu **First appearance:** 0002-i-distressing-scene-in-a-hotel ## Snapshot Archie's quick-witted wife, who loves her husband enough to manage him and her formidable father enough to keep the peace between them. ## Who they are Lucille Brewster Moffam is the bridge between two irreconcilable worlds — her father's empire of order and her husband's empire of chaos — and she crosses it daily with patience and a dry sense of humor. She nudges Archie into errands he dreads, forgives him for forgetting their anniversary, and knows exactly how to deploy his charm where charm might work. Without her steadying hand, Archie's misadventures would be merely destructive; with it, they become the stuff of domestic comedy worth reading. ## Relationships ### [Archie Moffam](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/indiscretions_of_archie_se/characters/archie_moffam) _family_ Archie and Lucille are a married couple, deeply in love but often navigating financial and familial tensions. ### [Bill Brewster](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/indiscretions_of_archie_se/characters/bill_brewster) _family_ Bill is Lucille's brother, and they share a warm sibling bond, with Bill protective of her happiness. ### [Mr. Daniel Brewster](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/indiscretions_of_archie_se/characters/mr_daniel_brewster) _family_ Lucille is Mr. Brewster's daughter, and she often mediates between her father and husband, though she respects her father. ### [Reggie van Tuyl](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/indiscretions_of_archie_se/characters/reggie_van_tuyl) _social_ Lucille and Reggie are acquaintances through Archie, with Reggie being a friend of the family. ### [Archie Moffam](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/indiscretions_of_archie_se/characters/archie_moffam) _family_ Archie and Lucille are a married couple, deeply in love but often navigating financial and familial tensions. ### [Archie Moffam](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/indiscretions_of_archie_se/characters/archie_moffam) _family_ Archie and Lucille are a married couple, deeply in love but often navigating financial and familial tensions. ### [Bill Brewster](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/indiscretions_of_archie_se/characters/bill_brewster) _family_ Bill is Lucille's brother, and they share a warm sibling bond, with Bill protective of her happiness. ### [Mr. Daniel Brewster](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/indiscretions_of_archie_se/characters/mr_daniel_brewster) _family_ Lucille is Mr. Brewster's daughter, and she often mediates between her father and husband, though she respects her father. ### [Bill Brewster](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/indiscretions_of_archie_se/characters/bill_brewster) _family_ Bill is Lucille's brother, and they share a warm sibling bond, with Bill protective of her happiness. ### [Reggie van Tuyl](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/indiscretions_of_archie_se/characters/reggie_van_tuyl) _social_ Lucille and Reggie are acquaintances through Archie, with Reggie being a friend of the family. ### [Mr. Daniel Brewster](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/indiscretions_of_archie_se/characters/mr_daniel_brewster) _family_ Lucille is Mr. Brewster's daughter, and she often mediates between her father and husband, though she respects her father. ### [Reggie van Tuyl](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/indiscretions_of_archie_se/characters/reggie_van_tuyl) _social_ Lucille and Reggie are acquaintances through Archie, with Reggie being a friend of the family. ## In the story ### [Indiscretions of Archie](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/indiscretions_of_archie_se/chapters/indiscretions-of-archie) Archie's wife, caught between loyalty to her husband and her father's disapproval. ### [A Shock for Mr. Brewster](https://www.betterreads.dev/discover/indiscretions_of_archie_se/chapters/ii-a-shock-for-mr-brewster) Mentioned via telegram and letter;
