# How does Huntingtower develop the theme of Loyalty and Friendship?

> Huntingtower by John Buchan

## Answer

Huntingtower by John Buchan develops Loyalty and Friendship across the chapters the companion marks for this theme.

Loyalty binds the diverse group—Dickson, Heritage, the Die-Hards, and Saskia—as they face danger together, with characters repeatedly risking their lives for one another, exemplified by the Die-Hards' steadfastness and the sworn oaths taken.

Dougal's detailed report and the Die-Hards' defense of their camp demonstrate strong loyalty among the group.

Dickson returns to support the Die-Hards despite his fears, and the boys work together to secure supplies and protect each other.

The group's commitment to protecting Saskia and each other, even at the risk of their lives, underscores their loyalty.
