**Role:** supporting

**First appearance:** 0000-i-gangoil

## Snapshot

A younger Brownbie given to mischief, one of the sons whose lawlessness makes Boolabong a standing threat to Heathcote's Gangoil.

## Who they are

Jerry Brownbie is one of the sons of Boolabong, the family that Harry Heathcote regards as the incarnation of everything wrong with the colony's squatters. The Brownbies live by preying on their neighbors' sheep, and Jerry is part of the loose brotherhood that makes the clan so hated. When Heathcote rides out at night fearing fire, it is men like Jerry—and the family that shelters them—who fill his imagination. Their proximity to his western fence turns a hot wind into a crisis.
