> Green Forest Stories by Thornton W. Burgess

## Answer

Green Forest Stories by Thornton W. Burgess develops Humanity and Nature across the chapters the companion marks for this theme.

The book contrasts the destructive impact of human hunters, who kill for sport rather than need, with the natural order of predators hunting for food, highlighting the disruption humans cause to the forest's intended peace and beauty.

The hunter represents human intrusion into the natural world, highlighting the conflict between animals and humans.

The chapter contrasts Old Mother Nature's intention for autumn to be a glad time with the fear introduced by human hunters, highlighting the conflict between humanity and the natural world.

The conflict between Lightfoot and the hunters (with their hounds) underscores the tension between human intrusion and the natural world.
