## Snapshot

A fearless neighbor who mistakes the fairy king for a changeling and hauls him home to be baptized.

## Who they are

Barney Casey, the Man without Childher, snatches what he takes to be an abandoned infant and carries it off for christening — only to find he has the King of the Good People squirming in Maureen's shawl. Unimpressed by curses and threats, he joggles and shakes his captive like a stubborn watch, determined to get a child baptized by hook or crook. His stubbornness turns a fairy prank into a parish-wide crisis, and his household becomes the stage for the king's humiliating daylight captivity.
