**Role:** supporting

**Also known as:** Poissan, Professor Poissan

**First appearance:** 0001-the-silent-bullet

## Snapshot

A French scientist whose research sits at the center of a case, embodying the Continental expertise Kennedy insists America has failed to match.

## Who they are

Poissan is the kind of Parisian crime-specialist Kennedy invokes when he tells Walter that America is a child beside a dozen European experts. His work becomes the intellectual engine of a mystery, the foreign brilliance that both inspires and threatens the homegrown professor. He matters because he represents the standard Kennedy is measuring himself against—and the rivalry that gives the cases their edge.
