# Miss Helen Bond — Craig Kennedy Stories character guide

> Miss Helen Bond in Craig Kennedy Stories by Arthur B. Reeve.

**Role:** supporting

**Also known as:** Miss Bond, Helen Bond, Bond, Helen

**First appearance:** 0002-the-scientific-cracksman

## Snapshot

A young woman entangled with a scientific cracksman, whose nerve and quick thinking keep her one step ahead of both thief and detective.

## Who they are

Helen Bond occupies the uneasy ground between the respectable world and the clever criminal circles Kennedy is learning to read, and her loyalties are not immediately clear to the men investigating. She is drawn to danger and to the man whose technical skill makes him formidable, a pull that complicates every attempt to treat her as merely a witness. Her choices in the early going determine whether the cracksman's methods are exposed or perfected, and she gives the case its human stakes.
