Daniel Favre

Daniel moves in the orbit of Maxime and the Clerambault circle, one of those young men whose talent and early death give the family something to mourn and to idealize. His loss lands on people already drunk on their own noble sentiments, and it tests whether their fine words about brotherhood and sacrifice can survive contact with real sorrow. For the early arc he matters less as a personality than as the human cost that begins to expose the gap between Clerambault's glowing rhetoric and the world it claims to describe.
