A white supremacist preacher whose rivalry with the Nordica crowd makes him a thorn in the movement's side.

## Who they are

McPhule preaches racial purity with the fervor of a man who has made it his livelihood, and he guards his turf jealously. He resents the upstarts and smooth operators who threaten to siphon off his followers and his income. His jealous feuding with Givens and company shows how the color line, in this satire, is mostly a contest over money and pulpit.
