# Antonio Spatola — Ashton-Kirk, Investigator character guide

> Antonio Spatola in Ashton-Kirk, Investigator by John T. McIntyre.

**Role:** supporting

**Also known as:** Spatola, XII Antonio Spatola, Mr. Spatola

**First appearance:** 0014-xii-antonio-spatola-appears

## Snapshot

An Italian whose guarded past keeps surfacing at the worst moments, drawing the investigator's eye whenever the case seems to stall.

## Who they are

Spatola moves through the case as a man whose history nobody can quite pin down, and Ashton-Kirk treats him as a thread worth pulling whenever the obvious suspects go quiet. His foreignness and reserve make him a natural screen for other people's secrets, which is precisely why the investigator keeps returning to him. In the early arc he matters less for what he says than for what his presence implies about the murder's hidden connections.
