As a supporting figure in Arsène Lupin Versus Herlock Sholmes, Alice Demun is not background color—the story leans on what they do once the chapter opens.
Silently accused by Sholmes; remains composed and does not defend herself.
Alice Demun moves through the affair as a modest, unremarkable presence — until Herlock Sholmes notices her slipping out to a pharmacy, pausing to speak with a beggar, and carrying packages that might be messages rather than medicine. Her composure and her small, ordinary gestures are exactly what make her suspicious to a detective trained to read meaning into everything. Whether she is Lupin's unwitting instrument or a knowing accomplice, her movements give Sholmes his first real thread into the thief's network.
